Shockwave
Shockwave Therapy (ESWT) is a new technology for the treatment of soft tissue pain. It works to help restore mobility and function while providing relief from chronic and acute soft tissue pain.
ESWT provides a non-operative, non – invasive treatment alternative for those suffering from chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions.
How does it work?
Shockwave works by sending acoustic energy shock waves into the affected tissue from the outside of the body. These waves act on a cellular level to breakdown scar tissue, increase circulation, metabolism and reduce pain.
Biological Effect:
Shockwave allows the body to regenerate blood vessels and bone cells – a process called revascularization. This leads to faster repair and regeneration of tendon and bone, leading to accelerated healing and a return to pre-injury activity levels.
Who can benefit?
Shockwave provides a safe, non surgical alternative for those suffering from:
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Achilles tendon pain
- Tennis elbow
- Golfers elbow
- Rotator cuff tendonopathy
- Jumper’s knee
- Patellofemoral syndrome
- Stress fractures
- Bursitis
- Trigger finger
- Bone bruises
- Trigger points
- Scar tissues
- Shin splints
- Frozen shoulder
- Adhesive capsulitis
- Truf toe
- Hallux rigidus
- Mortons neuroma
